“Halb-e-Zeit” (half-time)— an incomplete, vertically halved, yet clearly ‘recognizable’ time indication. You don’t have to be an IT expert to be familiar with the digital display of numbers. Digital time displays have long been part of our everyday lives—whether it’s the time displayed on stoves, coffee machines and other household appliances or on our wristwatches and mobile devices. If you look at the digits of our decimal system, it should be immediately obvious that they can only be the digits ‘1’ and ‘4’ and that 14:41 is the time. Nothing more and nothing less…, or perhaps: it’s also a palindrome.
