Nouvelle chanson ou SAGAZA-H/N-O – Une jeune femme a non seulement fait revivre la chanson française en France, mais elle l’a aussi rendue musicalement ›sociable‹ pour la jeunesse de la modernité actuelle, même en dehors de l’espace francophone. L’association de la chanson classique et de l’univers sonore électronique, la voix, l’habitus et le rayonnement de Zaho de Sagazan m’ont – comme on dit aujourd’hui – tout de suite séduite, voire ›flashé‹. J’avais déjà eu une ‘phase française’ dans les années 1980 avec la pop d’avant-garde des Les Rita Mitsouko et le duo rock-pop Niagara, mais Zaho de Sagazan les a tous éclipsés (pour moi, bien sûr) … C’est l’occasion pour moi de m’intéresser à nouveau un peu plus à la langue française et une raison suffisante pour ajouter Zaho de Sagazan à ma collection d’œuvres. L’image globale se compose d’une pose de la chanteuse extraite d’une vidéo de concert et d’un extrait de la pochette de l’album « La symphonie des éclairs » inséré dans le coin inférieur gauche de l’image (comme une bande dessinée). L’insertion de ces deux objets s’est faite dans un arrière-plan d’image à l’origine entièrement en couleur lilas et l’introduction d’une source de lumière ‘artificielle’ centrée sur la chanteuse assombrit, à l’exception de Zaho de Sagazan qui se trouve dans le faisceau lumineux, l’ensemble de la scène de manière à créer un effet de scène.

For better understanding: “Nouvelle chanson or SAGAZA-H/N-O”—A young woman has not only revitalized the French chanson in France, but has also made it musically “socially acceptable” for modern youth outside the French-speaking world. The combination of classical chanson with electronic soundscapes, Zaho de Sagazan’s voice, habitus, and charisma immediately caught my attention—even “blew me away,” as they say today. In the 1980s, I already had a “French phase” musically with avant-garde pop à la Les Rita Mitsouko and the rock-pop duo Niagara, but Zaho de Sagazan puts them all in the shade (for me, anyway)… Reason enough for me to take a closer look at the French language again and reason enough to include Zaho de Sagazan in my collection of works. The overall picture is formed from a pose of the singer cut out of a concert video and a section of the album cover of “La symphonie des éclairs” (comic-like) inserted in the bottom left section of the picture. These two objects were embedded in an originally completely purple background, and the introduction of an “artificial” light source focusing on the singer darkens the overall scene, with the exception of Zaho de Sagazan in the cone of light, to create a stage performance.
