Tinchen—IV Final Product

To make things easier for those who are unfamiliar with the international phonetic alphabet or who may not know it at all, here is the re-transformation into the source language. In the case of phonemic pictures whose source language is not English, a translation into English is also carried out.

“Tinchen IV” is the fourth of series of five cohesive phonemic pictures which was realized with the aim of explaining what a phonemic picture is and how it is created. Although the penultimate in the series, the work is the final product. “Tinchen” is the diminutive of the German first name ‘Catherine’ and is used as the working title for the entire series—the actual title is “Sheet Metal Treasure” (Tin + Chen), see “Tinchen II”.

Tin cans, not really valuable
in themselves become precious to
certain people in certain contexts.
Christmas is one such context in
which they might be a treasure.
